Born in Turin, Ilaria grew up in France and completed her studies in Venice in New Technologies for the Arts at the Accademia dele belle arti in Venice. Her first approach with photography was in 2008 when she worked on the "White Black" archive by Vittorio Pavan. In 2009 she started working with Giorgia Fiorio as assistant following her creative process and work method as a visual artist. At that time, she was in charge of the editorial graphics and project coordination of the Reflexions Masterclass. She took part in the project "The Arab Revolt" by photographer Giorgio Di Noto and coordinated the launch event with the Photo club and the Italian Institute of Culture in Tunis. In 2012 she co-founded YET Magazine, a Lugano-based online triannual photography publication which showcases editorials and photography series by worldwide artists. She was the magazine's photo editor for two years. Due to her interest in graphic design, in 2013 she curated the "Ottanta" exhibition in Lodi which took place in the space designed by architect Renzo Piano. Since 2013 she is part of the Association Fetart which takes care of the organization of the world-renowed photo festival Circulation(s) in Paris. In 2014, she curated notable events as the exhibitions of photographers Ying Ang and Gianni Cipriano at Petit Oiseau vas sortir. She usually collaborates as curator and photo consultant with several photographers including Stefano De Luigi, Guido Belli, Salvatore Arnone, Giorgio Di Noto, Chiara Goia. Her personal work as a photographer titled "Sans titre" was presented at the Galerie Sit Down in Paris and was part of the screening "An hour inside French contemporary photography" curated by Laura Serani at the 2015 Hamburg Triennale. It has been published by Lens Culture, Fisheye, Hans Lucas, Arte.. In 2015 she took part in various projects organized by the Mois de la Photo and she was a portfolio reviewer at the same year's edition of the acclaimed photo festival Les Rencontres d'Arles. In 2016 she attended the Marangoni Studio Foundation in Florence. Then she co-founded with Niccolò Hébel the independent publishing house and cultural association Zine Tonic. In 2017 she was awarded with an artist residency offered by Fotografia Europea in Reggio Emilia where she produces with Niccolo Hébel "How far now", a participatory photographic project with a group of young refugees. It will be launched at the 2017 festival edition and then exhibited in different venues like Palermo and Trieste. She served as photo editor for different magazines like Rolling Stone Italia, Io Donna and Corriere della Sera. At the request of the Fondation Catherine Gide, she is now working on an exhibition project "Vers André Gide" on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth. This year she got the residency program Le Promesse dell'Arte at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Paris where she produced a new body of work. Her images are part of some private collections. In 2020 she co-found with Reflexions Alumni, Ying Ang and Emilie Hudig, the R2.0 a masterclass dedicated to the practice of contemporary photography. She currently lives and works in Paris.
